Stop Pretending That Network Marketing Is Easy

Too many network marketers make the mistake of telling everyone how easy network marketing is, without realising just how damaging this is to their business.

Sure, when you consider what many people around the world have to do to earn a basic living, network marketing is easy. Really easy. I definitely prefer it to the hard factory work and pit mining that my parents did to put food on our table!

But most people don’t think in terms of what their ancestors or people in other countries class as hard work. When they hear the word ‘easy’, they think they won’t have to work.

The truth is, anyone who wants to be successful in network marketing will need to treat it as a business and must be prepared to put in the time and effort that it takes to make any business successful.

By pretending that network marketing is easy, you are doing your prospects a disservice and while you may grow your team quickly, you will likely find that most of your team members take little, if any, action before quickly dropping out.

Why would you expect them to put in the work necessary when you have promised them an easy way to make money?

It’s much more effective to be upfront about the work that is needed in order to become successful – the highest income earners in any network marketing company are the people who take their business seriously and work at it each day, not the ones who sporadically contact a prospect or two, or only work when they are ‘in the mood’.

Sure, by telling your prospects that they will need to take their business seriously, you will probably end up with fewer team members, but the ones who do join your team will have a greater chance of success because their eyes are open to the consistent work required.

In turn, you will have fewer lazy team members sucking up your time and will be able to work closely with the committed team members who are taking action.

So, do yourself and your prospects a favour, and stop pretending that network marketing is easy.

To your success
