Why There Is No Secret Success System In Network Marketing
I always cringe slightly when I hear people telling new network marketers that they have to join a team where their upline mentor is successful and will offer them a system to follow to ensure their own success.
Let me tell you something: nobody else can ensure your success.
There is no secret success system in network marketing. Why? Because network marketers are human! We’re all different people, with individual strengths and weaknesses, and unique lifestyles.
Just imagine you join a network marketing company and your upline mentor is a whiz when it comes to website design. He’s perfected a system of building an attractive website and getting people to visit that site and join his team. He then has them log into that website to do all of their business training online.
Sounds great, huh?
That upline mentor has developed a success system that works for him. It allows him to use his strengths to build his business.
But will that success system work for you? Not if you have no website design skills!
You might, for example, be great at quickly building rapport with new people you meet, or be particularly confident on the telephone.
Should you ignore those strengths of yours and try to follow the system your upline mentor has developed for himself? Of course not! Doing so would make no sense.
The role of an upline mentor is to support you as you build your business. They will hopefully invest their time in encouraging you, answering your questions, giving you advice from their own experiences, pointing out any mistakes you’re making, etc.
But they cannot – and should not – hand you a step-by-step system to follow. Instead, they should work with you to identify your strengths and help you put together your own action plan to achieve success. They should respect your different strengths and take into account the lifestyle demands that are unique to you.
So, when considering joining a network marketing business, remember that the system your prospective upline mentor uses to build their business is not necessarily the way you will be building your own team.
And, here’s a hugely important thing to remember – when you succeed in network marketing, your upline mentor will not take the credit for your achievements. So, if you’re not seeing the success you hope for, don’t expect your upline mentor to take the blame for that either.
Nobody can ensure your success but you.
